MEET TYSON

Director

Hi, I’m Tyson. I’m the older of the two brothers behind AMG Carpentry & Construction. Troy and I grew up in the Blue Mountains, where building and design were part of everyday life. Our mum was an interior designer, our dad was a builder, and our family home was constantly being renovated. So from a young age, we were surrounded by projects, problem-solving, and craftsmanship. You could say we grew up on a jobsite.

I left school at 16 to begin my apprenticeship under my father. He had high standards and taught me the importance of hard work, attention to detail, and genuine respect for the trade. Those early years shaped the way I approach every project today.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned and continue to learn, is the importance of seeing the bigger picture in construction. It’s not just about following plans on paper; it’s about understanding how every detail works in real life, how spaces are lived in, and how all elements come together to create a finished result that truly works for the client.

Outside of work, I’ve been married to Kristy since 2019 and we have two beautiful daughters, Addison and Elodie. As a family, we love camping, spending time outdoors, and taking on renovation projects of our own family home. That hands-on passion for creating great spaces doesn’t stop when I leave the jobsite.

MEET TROY

Director

Hi, I’m Troy. I’m the younger of the two brothers behind AMG Carpentry & Construction. Like Tyson mentioned, we both grew up watching our parents build, renovate, and turn our family house into a home. From an early age, we saw firsthand how ideas on paper become real spaces through hard work, patience, and attention to detail.

I also left school at 16 to begin my apprenticeship under our father. I still remember my first day which was learning how to move safely around a jobsite and unpack, then repack, the work trailer properly. It might sound simple, but that was Dad’s way of teaching me to respect the people around me, respect the tools, and take pride in doing things properly from the beginning.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of communication and double-checking the finer details. Those small things are what create a high-quality finish. From the foundations right through to handover, I believe it’s important not to cut corners, because I always want to look back on every project and feel proud of the work we’ve delivered..

Outside of work, I’ve been married to Hannah since 2021. We love staying active, playing music together, and we’re currently renovating our first home as a team—so we understand just how exciting, personal, and rewarding the building journey can be.

MEET KRISTY

Office Manager

Hi, I’m Kristy. I was born and raised in Newcastle, and it’s now the place where Tyson and I are raising our two daughters, Addison and Elodie.

I’ve spent the past 15 years working in Executive Assistant and Personal Assistant roles within corporate business, predominantly in the finance sector, along with experience in events-based roles. I also hold a Diploma in Business Administration, which has given me a strong foundation in organisation, systems, and keeping businesses running smoothly behind the scenes.

Over the last five years, I’ve focused heavily on designing and creating spaces within our own family home projects—something I genuinely love. It’s been incredibly rewarding working alongside Tyson and seeing an idea grow from a vision into a finished home that our family can enjoy.

At AMG, I manage much of the behind-the-scenes operations that keep the business moving, including administration, Xero, invoicing, accounts, payroll, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

I also love cooking and feeding people, so there’s a good chance you’ll spot me on site with homemade treats for the team. Creating welcoming spaces and bringing people together is something I enjoy both at home and within the business.

MEET HANNAH

Marketing Officer

Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m proudly born and raised in Newcastle, where Troy and I are currently renovating our first home together. Being part of our own renovation journey has given me an even deeper appreciation for the excitement, decision-making, and trust involved in creating a home you truly love.

At AMG Carpentry & Construction, I lead the brand, marketing, and growth side of the business. My role focuses on our social media, website, and content creation as well as marketing campaigns.

My strength is combining creativity with strategy. Before joining AMG, I worked as a piano teacher, which gave me strong foundations in communication, patience, discipline, and understanding how different people learn and connect. Those skills now flow naturally into my role within the business. It certainly helps to build a brand that feels authentic, professional and aligned with who we are as a family-run company.

Outside of work, Troy and I love exploring the local beaches, trying new cafés, and working on ideas for our own home. I’m also a qualified Pilates instructor, so there’s a good chance you’ll catch me on site reminding the boys to “use their core.”
